T
he Petco stores were each allotted an amount to donate to a local rescue and Bobby Jones, the manager of our local Petco chose YVPR because of our great relationship with them in finding new homes for many of our cats and kittens. Because of the dedication of our volunteers who oversee the feline care and adoptions at the Union Gap store, Petco has asked that we expand our adoption events to every Saturday afternoon and to bring in a few adoptable dogs then too!
We very much appreciate our relationship with Petco, its managers and employees and we thank them very much for ALL the support they have shown YVPR over the years!
Thanks Petco! Where the Pet's go... to get adopted! Learn more about our "every Saturday" adoption events at Petco.
A special thanks to two volunteers who really made this happen, Tambra Shuler, feline coordinator, and Leslie Yamada, volunteer extraordinaire.
Yakima Valley Pet Rescue is gearing up for its 9th annual chili-feed cook-off. They are pre-selling tickets for $12.00 now, it will be $15.00 at the door. This event will be held on February 25th 2012 at the Yakima Armory from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. This event will showcase some of your favorite chili-teams from last year and will have new teams with new chili to try! It is a family event, kids under 5 eat free and it is all you can eat too. Chili-feed tickets will make great stocking stuffers!
This is YVPR's biggest fundraising event. The proceeds from ticket sales and the auction items helps YVPR re-home nearly 1000 stray and unwanted adoptable pets each year.
