YVPR needs your help! We do not have enough foster homes for all the pets brought to us each week. Foster homes are needed to care for pets while they wait to be adopted into permanent, forever homes. If you have any room in your home and heart for a pet to stay temporarily until they can be adopted, please contact YVPR.
All that is required is a safe environment (cats must stay inside, dogs must have a fenced yard) and a little love. YVPR can help with food costs and will cover all medical needs, such as spaying or neutering, and vaccinations.
We especially need help with expecting mothers and older pets, but you can choose to foster the pet that best fits your home and family. If you join our foster e-mail list, you will receive information and photos of pets needing fostering each week. If you see one that you would like to foster, then send us an email and we will set it up. If you would like to be a foster home, please read and fill out the information below. If you have additional fostering questions, send them to: foster@yvpr.org
Fostering a rescue pet can be an immensely rewarding experience for you and your family. Knowing that you have helped give a dog or cat a second chance of life is why we all keep volunteering the way we do each and every day. Still, fostering can be difficult at times and is not for everyone. Before volunteering to foster a pet, please download, read and answer the questions on the following document:

If, after answering the above question, you are still interested in being a foster home, please read and fill out a Foster Application form. Follow the same submission guidelines as for volunteers. Also please read the Foster Agreement form, which you will be required to sign once receiving your first foster pet.
